Description

KeyStrepto is an essential management component in combating fireblight outbreaks in commercial apple and pear orchards. An effective bactericide, KeyStrepto is used to control bacterial diseases of pip fruit trees, stone fruit trees and seedling tomatoes. The active ingredient in KeyStrepto is streptomycin, a bactericide.

KeyStrepto is manufactured in New Zealand for Key Industries Ltd. Approved for use by the NZ Food Safety Authority. Approved for use by the NZ Environmental Protection Agency. Approved for use by the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Board. Active ingredient: contains 170 g/kg streptomycin as the sulphate salt in the form of a wettable powder.

Note: By law this product must only be used according to the label, unless an exemption for special use has been granted by the ACVM group.

  • It is an offence to use this product on animals.
  • It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the New Zealand (Maximum Residues Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards.
  • Withholding period for Apples, pears, apricots, cherries, nectarines and plums is 35 days.
  • Withholding period for Peaches is 56 days.

Resistance management Strategy:

Do not rely on products with a common mode of action for any extended period but where possible use in conjunction with alternate products from different chemical groups. Keystrepto must be used in a programme with alternative products recommended for the management of Psa. Prolonged use of keystrepto alone may lead to the development of resistant strains. Do not apply more than the number of sprays or use a rate greater or less than as specified on the label. Ensure thorough coverage. Shelf life - 3 years from date of manufacture
