The Rodents are Coming!
Date: 18-04-2019
Now is a great time to be calling your customers and informing them of the upcoming season and discussing your plans to actively manage their rodent problem for them rather than waiting till it happens.
Critical to your success this season is the following:
- Choose the right bait for the job - Your choice of rodenticide depends upon the environmental conditions and the severity of the infestation. Don’t be afraid to try something new as you will often gain control faster with the introduction of a new type of bait food source.
- Read the rodenticide label before placing bait - The label instructions give useful information on bait placement. “The label is the law.”
- Place bait where rodents travel - Your inspection will identify the problem areas and the species involved. Place bait where rats and mice will find it. If you need help in identifying where the rodents are remembering to use our great range of tracking products such as Detex blox, tracking dust and our 51 LED torch.
- Proper number of bait placements. Place enough bait to get rid of rodents. Keep up a fresh supply of bait and remove any spoiled or rancid bait.
- Always use bait stations - Tamper-resistant stations help keep bait away from children, pets and non-target species. Never place loose baits under any circumstance as this is the main cause of poisoning pets.
Eliminate the rodents’ food source, water & harbourage whenever possible – However knockdown the population first before applying any rodent-proofing measures, as disrupting the rodents’ environment may send them scurrying to another location.
