Protecting people, crops and native species - Key Industries' tagline sums up perfectly what we, as a company are all about. This was highlighted again this week when Key Industries attended the annual NETS Conference held in Tauranga this year. NETS is a national education and training seminar organised by the New Zealand Biosecurity Institute.

Peter Visser from our team did a presentation on the Argentine Ant eradication programme that Key Industries, Auckland Council and locals from Vivian Bay, Kawau Island have been involved in since 2013, and where the programme is currently at. The title "The Stealthy Invasion & 120 Reasons why we can control them". The presentation highlighted the impact the Argentine Ants have socially, economically and environmentally, and also how they established themselves in Vivian Bay. It also highlighted how using the Biff Ant Programme (products and methodology), 120 participants and the local community have come together to eradicate Argentine Ants from approximately 25 hectares at Vivian Bay, Kawau Island (eradication status pending).

To attempt a big project like the Vivian Bay, Kawau Island Argentine Ant eradication programme, or any job for that matter, it is good practice to establish the scope of effort - define & refine objectives and to develop a course of action to attain those objectives.

The Biff Ant Programme has been designed specifically, in New Zealand, for New Zealand conditions and proven effective against all ant species in New Zealand including Argentine and Darwin ants. One programme application will be effective for months and up to 1 year.

If you are interested to learn more about our Biff Ant programme, please give us a call on 0800 539 463 or email us at sales@keyindustries.co.nz for more information.
